Our Role
The role of the Black Femicide Canada Council is to provide guidance, strategic direction and to raise awareness of the femicides of B-WGGDT people in Canada.The Council
The Council is comprised of B-WGGDT experts across sectors and works closely with allies who are equally committed to dismantling systemic gendered anti-Blackness (GaB) and increasing recognition of Black femicides in Canada./How We Operate
The BFCC operates within an intersectional, decolonial and anti-Black racism framework, with a view to creating public policies that protect B-WGGDT people in Canadian systems and institutions.our approach
We use intersectionality to improve the outcomes for Black women, girls, gender diverse & trans people.

Monitoring media reports to track and document instances of Black femicide
Collaborating with Black femicide organizations in North America, Europe and internationally
